Asian Orange Springtails (Yuukianura Aphoruroides)

Asian orange springtails (Yuukianura aphoruroides) are small, surface-active springtails commonly used in bioactive vivaria for both cleanup and feeding purposes. They inhabit the upper layers of the substrate and leaf litter, where they consume fungi, decaying organic matter, and biofilm, helping regulate microbial growth and maintain enclosure hygiene.

In dart frog systems, Yuukianura aphoruroides are especially valuable as a feeder species for froglets due to their bright coloration, larger size, and tendency to remain visible on the surface. Their active movement stimulates feeding responses, while their rapid reproduction provides a consistent, appropriately sized live food source that supports healthy growth and development in young dart frogs.
